London Centre for Cities: April 9

The Shard, London, SE1 9SG · April 9, 2018, 6:00pm

Event

For the first City Horizons of the year we are delighted to be joined by Bruce Katz, former Centennial Scholar at the Brookings Institution, who will be discussing his latest book The New Localism written with Jeremy Nowak.

Set in the context of rising populism and rejectionism in Western political systems, The New Localism explores how cities are at the vanguard when it comes to finding innovative locally-led solutions to issues that have long been ignored by national governments.

In his talk, Bruce will explore some of the key themes emerging from the book, and discuss what opportunities this new era of localism offers the UK in the context of ever increasing political polarisation, and the fallout of Brexit.

This event will take place on 9 April from 6pm to 8.30pm in Warwick Business School in the Shard.
